Artist_:
Shackleton
( Live )

About_:
Dark bass music legend, founder of the cult label Skull Disco, and innovator of club music – Shackleton is one of the most interesting producers that has come out of the creative humdrum of club music in the early 00s. His bleak mixture of dub, techno, drone and minimalism sounds like music from long forgotten rituals or an impending apocalypse -gloomy, arresting, while at the same time opening doors to different worlds.

Shackleton debuted in 2004 with the track “Stalker for Mordant Music” and later founded his own label Skull Disco. With his partner in crime Appleblim, they released a series of 12-inches, transforming early dubstep with the methods of avant-garde. In 2009, the label ended.

Shackleton´s next album, Three EPs for Perlon, was considered among the best albums of the year in various music publications. The same holds true for the experimental collection Music for the Quiet Hour / The Drawbar Organ EPs recorded for his new label Woe to the Septic Heart! in 2012. Shackelton has worked with Pinch, Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson and Ernesto Tomasini.
