Frank Bretschneider & Pierce Warnecke present “No Content”
(AV live)
Frank Bretschneider is a musician, composer and video artist based in Berlin, and a legend in the field of experimental electronics. He works primarily with sine waves and white noise as his source material. Inspired by science fiction radio plays and films, he began experimenting with tape machines, synthesizers, and modified guitars, as well as exploring the possibilities of exchange between visual art and music. In 1995 he co-founded the Rastermusic record label which eventually merged with Carsten Nicolai’s noton to form Raster-Noton in 1999. He has released his work (in addition to Raster-Noton) on various labels including 12k, Line, Mille Plateaux and Shitkatapult.
Pierce Warnecke is a sound and video artist from the US, based in Europe. He works equally in the sonic and visual domains via performances, installations and compositions. In addition to his solo works he has collaborated with Frank Bretschneider, Matthew Biederman, Keith Fullerton Whitman and more. ‘No Content’, Warnecke´s latest collaboration with Frank Bretschneider, is both a dadaist prank and a visual mindfuck of found footage, depicting the sensory overload of modern life.
