Never Sol
(live)
East-European synth melancholy meets lynchian magic. Never Sol (Sara Vondrášková) is a synth sorceress, an experimental pop musician who relies on the delicacy of her voice and dreamy melodies. Melted ambient surfaces cut deep with deep with distorted and noisy elements, her songs veer into David Lynch territory: full-bodied, strong and eerie. Alumna of the Jazz at Academy of Music and Ethnology at Faculty of Arts in Prague, she debuted in 2012 with the theme song from the feature movie ‘Ve stínu’. Her 2013 debut ‘Under Quiet’ was well-received, and later re-released by acclaimed exploratory label Denovali Records.
She recorded her second LP ‘Chamaleo’ in her cozy attic studio in Prague, surrounded by plants and wood and using only hardware synthesizers and vocals. She has attended Red Bull Music Academy in Tokyo, wrote music for contemporary dance ensemble Spitfire Company and played at Eurosonic Noorderslag. “Sara Vondraskova makes experimental pop music as Never Sol — lush, intricately layered soundscapes that confront the darkness and perils of our everyday lives.” claims Indie Current website.
