Oscar Mulero & Javier Bejarano present “Monochrome”
(AV live)
Oscar Mulero’s musical career has been as prolific and long lasting as the evolution of dance music: as a key figure in its development, the Madrid-born DJ has always absorbed new trends, keeping his finger on the pulse of electronic dance music from the end of the 80’s right up to the present day, with a huge and lasting influence on global dance music scene. Starting DJing in 1988, Mulero was the first Spanish DJ to become part of the Members Of Mayday. He is the owner of labels Warm Up Recordings and Pole Recordings, and established Madrid’s The Omen Club in the early 90’s.
In 2013 Mulero started a series of live A/V performances under several project names such as ‘Light and Dark’, ‘Biolive’, and ‘Monochrome AV’, the latter of which he is presenting at Lunchmeat. ‘Monochrome’ is an audiovisual experience in collaboration with visual artists Nazare Soares and Javier Bejarano, combining hardware and software environments that include images, synthesizers, drum machines and multiple effects, opening the gateway to the most fulfilling side of IDM. A landscape dotted with micro-drones pulsating over deconstructed rhythms, processed and modulated live, unshackling Mulero from his usual role as a hard techno DJ.
