Pearson Sound
(DJ set)

David Kennedy aka Pearson Sound has become synonymous with cutting edge UK dancefloor music. Since 2006 he has stood at the forefront of club music innovations, seamlessly combining house, dubstep, UK funky, UK garage and oldschool jungle — energy meets ecstasy, futurism goes hand in hand with respect for the past. Under past aliases Ramadanman and Maurice Donovan he released several high-profile bangers, remixed Radiohead, Depeche Mode and the XX, and has been voted as one of Resident Advisor’s top 100 DJ’s in the world.
With Ben Thomson (Ben UFO) and Kevin McAuley (Pangaea) he co-founded Hessle Audio in 2007, widely respected as one of the most important and forward-thinking dance music labels of the 21st century, which is home to Pearson Sound’s 2015 debut album. Apart from releasing one club hit after another and creating vital mixes such as ‘Fabriclive 56’, he also found the time to run the vinyl-only club night Acetate in Leeds, and help ensure that Hessle Audio’s weekly radio show on London’s Rinse FM maintains its role as an essential part of the station’s broadcasting schedule.
