Mbodj is a dj and music programmer from Barcelona and Dakar dedicated to the research and divulgation of decentralized sound.
She is the co-founder of Jokkoo Collective, a group of six creatives from the african diaspora based in Spain that explores and disseminates electronic and experimental black music through the organization of events, parties, hosting shows at different radios like Rinse FM, Refuge Worldwide or Dublab or curating music festivals like ‘Electrónica en Abril’ in Madrid.
The motivating force of Mbodj’s work has a lot to do with transforming the way we look at modern and advanced music and how we can create community and possibility through it. Her sets try to bring to the club the intensity, complexity and delicacy of everyday experiences.
