Sailing in bubbling synths, tranced-out pads and floating, ungraspable rhythms, Job Oberman aka Oceanic creates music that carries emotional depth as bottomless as the great blue itself. Spending a decade in the community surrounding Rotterdam´s renowned label Nous’klaer Audio, he has recorded a couple of records both as a solo artist and as a collaborator, finally releasing his debut full-length this year. ‘Choral Feeling’ is built from vocal recordings of close friends, standing in testament to the extraordinary sense of togetherness that music can inspire. Oceanic was also a former resident of De School, and his aquatic live sets have been tested at Dekmantel many times.
