Shamanism meets virtual reality; PYUR is the alias of Berlin-based electronic artist Sophie Schnell, whose boundary-defying sound is as modern-facing as it is founded in her training in classical composition and vocal artistry. Since 2016, she has released albums on Scubaยดs Hotflush Recordings and Subtext Recordings. Thanks to her fascination in crafting synaesthetic sculptures within the realm of virtual reality she found a creative partner in Tim Novikov, a prominent multimedia artist, art director, and the co-founder of HLXP platform whose projects were showcased in Berghain and in art galleries from Miami to Basel.
