Shamanism meets virtual reality; PYUR is the alias of Berlin-based electronic artist Sophie Schnell, whose boundary-defying sound is as modern-facing as it is founded in her training in classical composition and vocal artistry. Since 2016, she has released albums on Scuba´s Hotflush Recordings and Subtext Recordings. Thanks to her fascination in crafting synaesthetic sculptures within the realm of virtual reality she found a creative partner in Tim Novikov, a prominent multimedia artist, art director, and the co-founder of HLXP platform whose projects were showcased in Berghain and in art galleries from Miami to Basel.
