Ukrainian-born composer and sound artist Katarina Gryvul and Peruvian visual artist Alex Guevara join talents for an anxious yet cathartic performance, where “organic” classical sounds are woven together with ambient electronic music, set to a visual backdrop of distortion and glitch. Conceived as part of the Rybachka initiative by Borschch magazine editor Mariana Berezovska, and developed and supported by Berlin’s CTM Festival, Gryvul and Guevara explore their emotions and the individual physical symptoms experienced by Gryvul — and thousands of Ukrainians — in the wake of Russia’s full-scale invasion of the territory in 2022.
