Litospheres

Sat 28 Sep, Trade Fair Palace

Co-founder of the Řehole festival and music label, timmi is a musician, composer and vocalist inspired by devotional musical traditions from around the world. Wielding an array of instruments at her disposal, from synthesisers and percussive elements to shruti boxes and the impressive tonal range of their voice, timmi’s music explores religious and spiritual themes through meditation-inducing instrumentals and evocative verbalisations. For Lunchmeat 2024, timmi and visual artists Darjan Hardi & Tomáš Martinek present ‘Lithospheres’, a world premiere audiovisual liveset of all-new original material. The performance focuses on themes of ‘return’, with the collaborating artists reacting to the grim state of the natural world and the imaginary layers of the self, synonymous with the unseen layers of geological sediment which form our world, which we as humans shroud ourselves in: “Music, as mystical practice, profane prayer, corporeality, prophet, spirit and matter, duality and unity, falling into the void – emptiness, like the potential of everything.”
