Whatever The Weather
live

In the shortest space of time, London-based musician Loraine James was catapulted from obscurity to the top of electronic music playlists the world over. With a trilogy of releases for Hyperdub, and more in the back, James delineated a refreshing take on the current modes of dance music which hasn’t weakened in quality or inventiveness with the years, nor the recognition.

Sandwiched between ‘Reflections’ and, two of James’ highly commended albums for Hyperdub, the London-based artist’s side project Whatever The Weather offered fans a place to explore the musician’s more impressionistic, inward-facing spaces, with tracks titled sparsely with Celcius markers indicating an emotional temperature. Seamlessly flowing from ambience to mottled rhythms, Whatever The Weather is emotional music, wherever you’re carried to.
