Lunchmeat Festival x Aerofilms:
Sirat & Discussion in CZ
19:30–22:30
How do different generations of promoters, DJs, musicians, and active participants in the techno scene perceive its evolution over the past 30 years? Rave and techno as a continual search for new sounds, communities, and the self—explored in a discussion tied to a preview screening of Sirat, a wild ride that shocked Cannes and, beyond winning the Jury Prize, earned a reputation as the year’s most explosive cinematic experience with instant cult potential and a hypnotic soundtrack by legendary producer Kangding Ray. Guests: Nina Farrina, Nika 77, Raveboy, Michal Veltruský (Nite Vibes, Ankali) and Ladislav Zensor (Exhausted Modern, Oblaka). Moderated by Lucia Udvardyová.
19:30 Echoes of Rave: 30 Years of Techno in the Czech Republic — discussion
20:30 Sirat — preview screening
The hot sun sears the thumping sound systems, deafening beats echo from the Moroccan rocks, and sweaty bodies abandon themselves to ecstatic dancing. Luis’s search for his daughter has led him here, to this illegal rave, but he is unsuccessful once again. A new trail leads him deeper into the desert, where another rave is planned. But the journey there risks the lives of Luis, his son, and the five nomads they have joined. Oliver Laxe’s transcendental parable tests not only the cinema’s sound system but also the level of tension the audience is willing to bear. The most explosive film shown at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Sirât is a hypnotically suggestive audiovisual experience with a chilling vision of a world on the brink of collapse, where freedom is merely an illusion, a temporary state without any guarantees.
